These terms explain how The Pool Quotes connects homeowners in Australia with local pool cleaning providers, and what you're agreeing to when you use our quote request form.
This page sets out the terms that apply when you use The Pool Quotes to request pool cleaning quotes, browse listed providers, or otherwise use this website. It covers what the service does, what happens to the information you submit, and how to contact us with questions. This document is reviewed periodically and was last reviewed in 2025; if we make material changes we'll update the date at the top of this page.
The Pool Quotes is a lead-generation directory, not a pool cleaning company. When you submit a quote request through our form, we pass your details to a small number of pool cleaning providers operating in your suburb or postcode โ typically up to three โ so they can contact you directly with a price. We don't clean pools, employ tradies, set prices, or supervise the work carried out by any provider listed on this site. Any quote, appointment, or job you arrange after being contacted is a private arrangement between you and that provider, and The Pool Quotes is not a party to it. Because we're a matching service rather than a booking platform, we can't guarantee that a provider will call you back, that a stated price will be honoured, or that a job will go ahead. Providers are independent businesses and manage their own schedules, pricing, and customer communications.
Our quote form typically asks for your name, phone number, email address, suburb or postcode, and basic details about the job โ for example pool size, pool type, or whether the service is a one-off clean or ongoing maintenance. If you use a free-text field to describe your situation, whatever you type there is collected as well.
We may also automatically collect standard technical information when you visit the site, such as your general location (derived from IP address), browser type, device type, and pages viewed, using cookies or similar technology. This is used to keep the site working properly and to understand which pages are useful, not to identify you personally.
You should only submit details that are accurate and that relate to your own quote request. Please don't submit another person's contact details without their knowledge, since those details will be passed on to a real business that may call or email them.
When you submit a quote request, we share the information you provided with the provider(s) we match to your job, so they can contact you about pricing and availability. We generally don't sell your details to unrelated third parties or use them for purposes outside matching you with pool cleaning providers and improving that matching process.
Once a provider receives your details, they become responsible for how they store, use, and protect that information under their own privacy practices โ we'd encourage you to ask any provider how they handle your data if that matters to you. If a provider contacts you and you'd rather they didn't, you can ask them directly to stop, and you can also let us know so we can review that provider's account.
We don't control the content of calls, texts, or emails sent by providers after a match is made. If a provider's conduct seems unreasonable โ for example excessive calls or unrelated marketing โ please tell us via our contact page so we can look into it.
We generally keep quote request details for as long as needed to complete the matching process and to maintain a basic record of past requests, and then for a further period for reasonable administrative or record-keeping purposes. We don't keep your information indefinitely for no reason, and we periodically review what we hold.
Under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles, you generally have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to ask us to correct it, and to ask us to delete it where retention is no longer necessary. To make any of these requests, contact us through the details on our Contact page and we'll respond within a reasonable timeframe.
We can't remove information already shared with and stored by a provider before your request reaches us โ that request needs to go to the provider directly, and we're happy to point you to their listed contact details if you need them.
The Pool Quotes does not guarantee that any quote you receive will match the final price charged, that a provider will hold current licensing or insurance, or that the work will be completed to any particular standard. Licensing requirements for pool servicing and related trade work vary by state, and where a licence is required, it's issued by the relevant state body โ for example the VBA in Victoria, QBCC in Queensland, or NSW Fair Trading in New South Wales โ so we'd recommend checking a provider's current licence status with that body before you book, rather than relying solely on their listing. Prices quoted by providers may be given inclusive or exclusive of GST depending on how that business operates; ask the provider directly which applies before agreeing to a job. We list providers based on the information they give us and don't independently verify every claim made in a listing or during a phone call. Using The Pool Quotes to get quotes does not create any employment, agency, or partnership relationship between you, us, or any listed provider. Any dispute about workmanship, pricing, or scheduling is between you and the provider you engaged.
We may update these terms from time to time to reflect changes to how the service works, and the current version always applies from the date shown at the top of this page. Continuing to use the site or submit quote requests after an update means you accept the revised terms.
If you have questions about these terms, want to request a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or want to raise a concern about a provider, please use the details on our Contact page rather than assuming a specific email address or postal address applies โ we'll keep that page current as our contact methods change.
If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable under the law of the relevant Australian state or territory, the remaining terms continue to apply as normal.
